Post-Graduation Immigration Support Program

The Post-Graduation Immigration Support Program is now open for registration! The program aims to support and retain international graduates in Nova Scotia by providing instructional information on immigration programs and personalized immigration coaching.

Eligible graduates will have access to a session with a regulated Canadian immigration consultant from the program’s partner, Inspired Immigration. The consultants will help participants navigate the Canadian immigration system and identify their best option for staying in the province.

To be eligible for a free 30-minute virtual session, graduates must have:

  • Finished their studies at a post-secondary institution in Nova Scotia in the past year (between August 2021 to date);
  • Possess a post-graduation work permit, or proof of application for one; and
  • Have a job or job offer (from an NS employer, on a position based and taxed in Nova Scotia).

Eligible graduates are welcome to join our upcoming info session on October 19 at 5:30 p.m. to learn more about the program.

Study and Stay™ CONNECT program launch

The Study and Stay™ CONNECT program launch event was held on September 29, 2022. Several of EduNova’s members, funders, and Study and Stay™ alumni and mentors attended to celebrate the launch of the new project.

Remarks were provided by Nancy MacLellan, Deputy Minister, Nova Scotia’s Department of Advanced Education; Chuck Maillet, Vice President, ACOA – APECA; the Honourable Jill Balser, Minister, Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration; and the Honourable Lena Metlege Diab, Member of Parliament. The event also included impact stories from Study and Stay™ alumni Elder Koch and Raquel Buckton — as well as their mentor, Mark Kotzer.

The Study and Stay™ CONNECT project is expected to reach 2,000 international students in all years of study at Nova Scotian post-secondary institutions over the next four years. iCent’s app technology will support the delivery of two programs that fall under the project: the Study and Stay™ Nova Scotia Capstone Program for final-year international students, and the Study and Stay™ Foundations Program for students in all years 1-3 of study in Nova Scotia.
