UPDATES AT EDUNOVA – April 27, 2023

EduNova Mentor Appreciation Event

The Mentors Appreciation Event took place in the evening on April 20 at the NATIONAL Public Relations office. The purpose was to recognize the importance of mentors’ work in supporting international students in our Study and Stay – Nova Scotia Program and to build long-term relationships with them. The agenda included testimonials from students, a presentation by the worldwide known researcher Dr. Jeff Dahn, from Dalhousie, sharing about mentorship experiences along his journey, an overview of mentorship opportunities with the Study and Stay CONNECT program, and time to mingle. The evening was filled with appreciation toward our mentors and a cheerful atmosphere. If you want to know more about mentorship with EduNova or help us recruit new mentors, please visit our Mentors webpage.

Export Internship Program (EIP) Pitch Competition

The EIP Pitch Competition was held virtually on the evening of April 19, 6-8 pm. A combination of six Nova Scotia businesses, nine students, and three judges attended the event. The three judges that joined us were a journalist, Glennie Langille, a federal employee, Paul Gerin, and Kalie Wang, NSCC faculty. The students competed by pitching to the companies for a one-year internship experience, and the businesses pitched right back to the graduates about why they should work for them. Companies are now following up with their selected graduates for interviews and it is expected to have all six interns start in May. At the end of the evening, the judges selected Leah Nguyen for the best pitch, receiving a training package for the prize. The evening ended on a great note with students networking with the companies.

*Please note we are still accepting registrations from interested graduates or students graduating this Spring. International and domestic students with business administration (especially marketing) or international trade focus are welcome to apply.
