Alumni Story – Aditi Joshi

Aditi Joshi is an imaginative artist and designer from Tanzania, living in St. John’s Newfoundland and continuing her studies at Memorial University. Upon graduating from the Atlantic Study and Stay™ – NL program, she was inspired to begin her entrepreneurship journey through her business, AJDesign. Aditi’s drive is self-expression through art. AJDesign is a design agency specializing in crafting, graphic and interior design, mandala and henna body art. Aditi is a Mehndi (Henna) artist with many years of experience, as well as interior and graphical designer. Her artwork has been displayed in RIAC gallery downtown St. John’s as well as featured in the Newfoundland Quarterly 2018 edition. You can also find her murals on the walls of MUN’s Business Faculty wall. AJDesign strives to create innovative and visually stunning designs using the highest quality product and inspired heavily from a mix of Indian and Tanzanian backgrounds. Aditi learned about the market structure and the demand for artists in Newfoundland and Labrador and, while in the Atlantic Canada Study and Stay™ NL program, Aditi was supported by “mentors guiding me in the right direction to lift my business to greater heights.”
