EduNova hosts largest graduation ceremony in its history

June 29, 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EduNova is hosting its largest graduation ceremony to date, celebrating 88 students who have successfully completed the organization’s Study and Stay™ programs through Pheedloop on June 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The ceremony is open to the public and attendees who register online will have the opportunity to network through one-on-one video calls with guests, mentors and students.

“Although this year we had an extra layer of complexity added to our program due to COVID-19, we were able to still make an impactful experience for many of our students. The Atlantic Canada Study and Stay™ team, alongside our career strategist through En Point, was able to create meaningful learning opportunities for our students,” said Aris Hernandez, program coordinator for EduNova. “This graduation ceremony is a way to celebrate those achievements, while providing more room for professional growth through networking.”

The ceremony’s welcome address will include pre-recorded opening remarks from Francis P. McGuire, president of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency; Lena Metlege Diab, labour and advanced education minister; and Dr. Peter Ricketts, president and vice-chancellor of Acadia University. Katie Orr, interim president and CEO of EduNova, will be in attendance and provide opening remarks live.

This year’s graduating cohort will be joining more than 200 graduates who have completed EduNova’s Study and Stay™ programs in Nova Scotia over the past four years. The programs provide international students in the province with connections to pre-employment resources, networking, mentorship, career coaching, labour market and entrepreneurship opportunities.

EduNova, headquartered in Halifax, N.S., is a provincial co-operative industry association of education and training providers — the only one of its kind in Canada. EduNova’s mission is to champion Nova Scotia as a leader in international student experience, while advancing social and economic growth in the province.
